About Rooibos

WHAT IS ROOIBOS?

Rooibos is a caffeine-free herbal tea with a rich, delicious body. It is brewed from the slender leaves of a small bush that only grows in one place on Earth: The Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. The green leaves are crushed and fermented until they attain their characteristic russet color.

Rooibos is a rich source of antioxidants. Additionally, rooibos has a reputation as an excellent tea for upset stomachs. It has a calming, warming, adaptogenic effect. Boasting an array of minerals and polyphenols, rooibos is particularly good for the digestive and circulatory systems.

Rooibos is very popular in South Africa. The people of the region have enjoyed its flavor and benefits for centuries.

Rooibos is easy to brew with tea bags or as a loose tea. Use boiling water. Let rooibos steep at least ten minutes. There's no danger of burning rooibos! The longer and hotter you steep rooibos, the more of its flavor and benefits you draw.

Rooibos also makes an excellent base for caffeine-free rooibos chai.

ECOTEAS rooibos is certified organic. It is grown and processed in small batches by hand, preserving the flavor and benefits of the herb and ensuring sustainability for future generations.
